Tanks Inc. EFI Fuel Tanks, GPA/PA In-Tank Pumps & Regulators

Smoother starts, steady idle, and no fuel-starve under load—that’s the point. Tanks Inc. hardware pairs baffled, EFI-ready steel tanks with in-tank GPA/PA pump modules to keep fuel covered and pressure stable. Add the right regulator, plumb with PTFE AN lines, and drive like it’s 2025—not 1985.

Squarebody EFI Tanks (1978–87)

Short/long bed options with internal baffled trays for reliable EFI fueling. Correct filler-neck sizes for early (1-1/4") vs. late (1-5/8") trucks.

  • Short bed 16 gal (TM11A-T / TM11B-T)
  • Long bed 20 gal (TM1A-T / TM1B-T; also fits 1988–91 R/V)

All use 5-bolt senders and mount in the OE saddle location ahead of the axle.

GPA Series In-Tank Pump Modules

Quiet, reliable, up to 100 PSI, with 1/4" NPT supply/return and a barbed vent on a heavy 10-gauge mounting plate.

  • GPA-TBI — 109 LPH (TBI / low-pressure)
  • GPA-2 — 190 LPH
  • GPA-4 — 255 LPH (most LS swaps)
  • GPA-5 — 340 LPH
  • GPA-6 / GPA-8 / GPA-9 — 400–450+ LPH

PWM note: gerotor pumps in GPA modules aren’t PWM-compatible; disable PWM on systems like FiTech.

PA Series In-Tank Pump Kits

Universal retrofit modules for a range of Tanks Inc. applications with detailed HP guidance at common EFI pressures.

Use the table below to map LPH to estimated horsepower.

Regulators & Filter/Regulators

  • Adjustable Bypass Regulator (35–70 PSI, includes three -6 AN adapters & gauge)
  • Corvette-style 58 PSI Filter/Regulator (LS swaps; not for pumps over 255 LPH)

How to Choose Your Pump

Pick flow for your power goal (gasoline), then regulate correctly. When in doubt, size up one step.

Module Flow Typical Use Power Guide* Notes
GPA-TBI 109 LPH TBI / low-pressure EFI ≈250–300 hp ~15–20 PSI systems
GPA-2 190 LPH Mild EFI & NA builds Up to ~450 hp Up to 100 PSI
GPA-4 255 LPH Most LS swaps (58–60 PSI) Up to ~630 hp Disable PWM
GPA-5 340 LPH Higher-output builds ~700–800+ hp High-flow, up to 100 PSI
GPA-6 / GPA-8 / GPA-9 400–450+ LPH Boosted / future-proof 800+ hp (setup-dependent) Up to 100 PSI

*Estimates for gasoline at typical EFI pressure. Injector size, voltage, base pressure, and duty cycle affect real results.

Why Buy Tanks Inc. Gear from Hot Rod AN

  • Squarebody clarity: we spell out early vs. late filler-neck sizes and bed-length capacities so you order once and install once.
  • Real pump matching: flow-to-horsepower guidance and the PWM caveat spelled out, so your combo works the first time.
  • End-to-end plumbing: pair your tank/pump with our PTFE hose bundles, ≤10 μm filters, and AN adapters for a leak-free system.
  • Expert install help: see our Install page and PTFE hose guide. Questions? We’ll help size everything.

Quick FAQs

Do the squarebody tanks include baffling?
Yes. They use an internal tray and EFI-ready baffling to keep the pickup covered, reducing fuel starvation on acceleration and cornering.
Are GPA modules PWM compatible?
No. GPA pumps are gerotor style; disable PWM control on systems that offer it (e.g., FiTech). Use standard constant-voltage control.
What ports do GPA modules use?
They have 1/4" NPT supply and return ports, plus a barbed vent on the mounting plate.
What regulator should I run?
For tunable setups, Tanks Inc.’s adjustable bypass regulator covers 35–70 PSI and includes (3) -6 AN adapters and a gauge. For LS swaps, the Corvette-style filter/regulator is fixed at 58 PSI and is not recommended with pumps over 255 LPH.
